KRONOS Optikos3G CX SDI

QUALIFIED SFP+ HARDWARE MODULES

SMPTE IP, SDI Fiber and HDMI SFP+ hardware modules can be hot swapped in and out of the KRONOS Optikos3G CX SDI video card without requiring a firmware, driver, software update, change of video card or change of video server. Changing the video interface is as simple as hot swapping the SFP+ hardware module saving on the capex cost of purchasing a fixed video interface server.

Hot swapping SFP+ hardware modules to change the video interface is a far more cost efficient process than purchasing a new turnkey video server.

SMPTE IP Hardware

A maximum of 3 x SMPTE IP hardware modules can be loaded per OPTIKOS3G CX SDI video card supporting single or dual channel 2110/2022 transmit (TX) or receive (RX) of HD-3G video modes.

Each SMTE IP module supports 2022-6/7 and 2110-20/30/40 10Gb Multimode Fiber.

SMPTE IP Hardware Features

Clean switching can be used on a receiver to switch between two sources on the same network without any visible/audible interruption.

A Frame Sync license is available to lock 2110 TX streams when the KRONOS Optikos3G CX SDI cannot be locked to a common reference source already locked to the network PTP timing.

Additional 1 Channel SMPTE 2022-6 and STMPTE 2110 TX and RX licenses can be added to each SMPTE IP module optionally. Only 1 license at any time can run live.

Additional 2 Channel SMPTE 2022-6 and STMPTE 2110 TX and RX licenses can be added to each SMPTE IP module optionally. Only 1 license at any time can run live.

IP Discovery and Configuration

The SMPTE IP hardware modules can be configured and controlled the following ways, all of which are in-band configuration;

• NMOS/Ember+
• JSON REST API
• EM/MN-Set Server Application

SDI Coax

3 x SDI Coax hardware modules are loaded per OPTIKOS3G CX SDI video card for 6 streams of 3G SDI BNC via SFP+ and another 2 on board 3G BNC connectors for a total of 8 x 3G SDI bi directional I/O.

SDI Coax modules support via HDBNC 2 x 3G SDI capture, 2 x 3G SDI playout or 1in/1out 3G SDI. All modules are re-clocked.

SDI Fiber

A maximum of 3 x SDI Fiber hardware modules can be loaded per OPTIKOS3G CX SDI video card.

SDI Fiber modules support via Singlemode Fiber for 2 x 3G SDI capture, 2 x 3G SDI playout or 1in/1out 3G SDI.

HDMI

A maximum of 3 x HDMI hardware modules can be loaded per OPTIKOS3G CX SDI video card.

The HDMI modules support 1.4a Type D, 1 channel in or 1 channel out per SFP+ hardware module for a maximum number of 3 x HDMI 1.4a channels as 2in/1 out or 1in/2out. Each module comes with a locking cable.
